Figures from a 2007 National Health Interview Survey, which collects data every five years on the use of complementary and alternative medicine, showed that 150,000 children in the United States used acupuncture. Acupuncture has been found to be safe for kids. Much of pain is due to a hyper-arrousal of the nervous system.
Conclusions: Acupuncture may be a safe and feasible treatment to assist mothers to reduce their dosage of methadone.
