New research shows acupuncture at points along the spine help with anxiety and cravings during heroin withdrawal
New research concludes that acupuncture reduces pain sensitivity for patients suffering from fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS). The study also showed that patients receiving acupuncture had significant reductions in anxiety and depression. Further, the overall quality of life score improved for FMS patients receiving acupuncture therapy.
Researchers found that women who attended six weekly acupuncture sessions had greater improvements in fatigue as well as anxiety, depression and quality of life, compared to those who only received educational materials.
Patients undergoing cancer treatments have been found, through research, to have improvement in symptoms of fatigue and anxiety when treated with acupunture.
